We are alive...

..I was so relaxed by the vacation that I haven't blogged in weeks. We did make it back from Mexico and had a fabulous time. I think we would've enjoyed a more authentic Mexican experience...we were still too close to the border and was much too touristy for our us. The town we stayed in really catered to the 18-25 year old spring break crowd, if you know what I mean. There was a lot of loud music, drunk kids and crazy driving...which wasn't what we were really looking for with our 1 year old daughter in tow. But we definitely realized how good we have it in the States. I haven't been across the border since I was a little girl and it was amazing to me how immediately things were different. First of all driving was insane...Dan did an amazing job. I would never have wanted to drive there at all. I thought we were going to die so many times, plus our GPS didn't work in Mexico, the roads were closed that we had directions to and we just were amazed by the crazy maneuvers people would pull. We got lost on our way back from the zoo for like an hour driving around in circles just trying not to get killed. We decided after that we would just stay in Mexico for the rest of the trip.

Top Five Highlights of the Trip

5. Dora at the Beach- she couldn't get enough of the water..until she tried to drink it..nasty

4. Riding Horses on the Beach.

..at first she was really scared but then she could see what the guide was riding and then she figured out that's what she was on and she couldn't stop giggling. My arm was sore for like 3 days from holding on to her so tight. Doesn't Dan look good on a horse. By the way, on Day one he fried his legs and had to wear his only pair of pants for the rest of the trip....his legs just stopped peeling like 2 weeks ago

3. Having absolutely nothing to do while Dora took her naps everyday...

We would just watch TV, nap ourselves or I would go pool side and lay out. It was so nice...I don't think we ever left the condo until 1:oo pm. We probably would have done a lot more if we hadn't taken Dora but it was so relaxing we didn't mind. We also learned that we need to get a King size bed...after a week on that thing a queen just won't do.

2. USS Midway:

We had some time to kill before our flight home so we toured the USS Midway which is a huge air craft carrier docked in the harbor. It was a neat tour-we each had a head phone set and listened to personal stories and facts as you walked through. We could have gone to Disneyland for the price of this tour, but we felt it was well worth it and would do it again. In fact, we really want to go back to San Diego on our next trip...there's so much to do there and the weather is perfect

1. San Diego Zoo...

This is an incredible zoo. The animals have awesome enclosures...they have animals that I had never even heard of or seen...like weird crosses between different animals and such. The greatest thing was the double stacked buses...you could essentially see everything sitting down and could get off and on if you wanted to see things up close. They have a really fun kids zoo where you could pet and roam around with goats, horse, etc. It was a really fun day and we got to eat at In and Out burger...which I hate to admit but was my favorite meal of the trip. The food in Mexico wasn't everything I had dreamed about but luckily didn't get any of us sick either.

A big shout out needs to go to my dad for being our taxi driver to and from the airport and to Aaron, Carrie, Nickle, Jack, Lucy and Tank for watching Buddy for the entire week. He was naughty dog too...ran away like 10 times a day and almost had the pound called on him for disturbing the peace...
